This policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage are used on chicko.ariamax.nl and in the browser version of Hunt the Chicko! at chicko.ariamax.nl/play/, what they are for, and how you can control them. It complements our privacy policy. "Cookies" here also means local storage, IndexedDB, cache storage and similar techniques that keep data in your browser.
1. This website
The pages of chicko.ariamax.nl — home, privacy, terms, cookies, delete my data — set no cookies at all, run no scripts and load nothing from other companies: fonts and images come from our own server. There is nothing to consent to on these pages, so they show no cookie banner.
2. The browser game (/play/)
The browser version of the Game uses only its own first-party storage, which is essential to play: your progress, best scores, player name, control and sound settings and today's play allowance are kept in the browser's site storage for chicko.ariamax.nl, and the installable web app caches the Game's files there so it starts fast and works offline. This data never leaves your browser and contains no identifiers about you beyond what you typed in. It stays until you clear the site data. The browser version sets no third-party cookies: it currently shows no advertising and loads no advertising code.
Planned: we intend to add the same optional rewarded ads as in the Android app to the browser version, through Google AdSense. When that happens, Google's advertising code will set cookies and local-storage identifiers on Google's advertising domains (such as googlesyndication.com, doubleclick.net and google.com) to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, detect fraud and, with your consent where required, personalise ads; in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you will be asked for consent before any of that code runs, and your choice will be stored in your browser. We will update this policy before the ads go live. Google describes its cookies in Google's cookie information and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3. The Android app
The app uses no cookies. Google AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) for the same purposes as the advertising cookies above; you can reset or delete it under Settings → Google → Ads on your device.
4. Your choices
- Consent message and Privacy options (Android app). The app includes Google's consent tool; where a consent message applies to your region it is shown at first start, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Privacy options in the app's settings menu. The browser version has no advertising and no consent message at the moment.
- Google's own controls. You can turn off personalised advertising by Google in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of many advertising cookies through youronlinechoices.eu or aboutads.info.
- Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; every browser explains how in its help pages. Blocking third-party cookies or Google's advertising code does not stop the Game — the ad rewards are simply unavailable. Note that clearing the site data for chicko.ariamax.nl also erases your progress and settings in the browser version.
5. Changes and contact
